About the Role
We are specifically looking for casual staff who have maximum availability over the upcoming Christmas and New Year holiday period. Candidates who can commit to shifts throughout the end of December and early January are highly valued.
We have multiple Casual Disability Support Worker (DSW) openings across various locations and skill sets. Based on your experience and availability, your causal shifts could involve:
- Diverse Settings: Working in participants' private homes (IHC) or within our specialist Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes/Vertical Villages.
- Essential Support: Assisting clients with personal care, meal preparation, mobility, and facilitating community access and daily routines.
- Specialised Care: Managing complex needs, which may include implementing Behaviour Support Plans (BSP), using de-escalation techniques for behaviours of concern, and administering medication.
- High Clinical Needs: Supporting participants with detailed health support plans and managing conditions related to trauma, forensic backgrounds, or other complex clinical requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Delivering meaningful, person-centred care while working closely with allied health clinicians, case workers, and family members.
These casual roles offer maximum flexibility across a 24/7 roster, including day, afternoon, evening, sleepover, and active night shifts.
About You
We’re looking for people with a range of experience and qualifications:
- Minimum 6–12 months’ experience in disability, aged care, home care, mental health or related fields
- Certificate III/IV/Diploma in Disability, Individual Support, Aged Care, or similar (preferred)
- Bachelor's in Nursing is highly desirable
- Strong communication, emotional intelligence, and boundary setting
- Experience with high-intensity or complex behaviours (advantageous but not required for all roles)
- NDIS Worker Screening, First Aid, Driver’s Licence and insured vehicle
