About the Role
Disability Support Worker will provide support with people living with mental health clients,high challenging behaviors, and/or high physical / clinical to align with their individual program plan.
Working with external care teams and families, the role is responsible for providing high-quality, responsive, and person-centered support to assist participants enhance their everyday living skills, gain access and participation in community to achieve their goals, enhance their quality of life and physical and mental health.
- Supporting clients with personal care, community access, and daily routines
- Working in participants’ homes or in our purpose-built Vertical Villages (SIL/SDA)
- Managing complex needs including behaviours of concern, trauma, forensic backgrounds, and high clinical needs
- Administering medication and following detailed health support plans
- Implementing behaviour support plans and using de-escalation techniques
- Providing meaningful, person-centred care to NDIS participants
- Collaborating with clinicians, case workers, and families
About You
You will thrive and succeed in our team by bringing the following experience to this position:
- Minimum 6 - 12 months’ experience in disability, aged care, mental health, or related fields
- Certificate III/IV/Diploma in Disability, Individual Support, Aged Care, or similar (preferred)
- Experience supporting people with mental illness, high physical needs, and behaviours of concern
- Demonstrated experience with high physical and clinical needs, including medication administration
- Strong understanding of professional boundaries, restrictive practices, and behaviour support
- Effective written and verbal communication, including clear case note writing
- Able to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills to work both autonomously and as part of a team
- NDIS Worker Screening, First Aid, Driver’s Licence, and insured vehicle.
