About the Position
We’re seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join us on an initial 4-month contract to lead the end-to-end payroll function across our group, including United for Care and associated entities. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a complex payroll, ensure compliance with the SCHADS Award, and identify opportunities for process innovation.
A key part of this role involves working closely with our offshore Payroll Analyst. You’ll provide guidance and mentoring to help them develop a strong understanding of Australian payroll regulations, with a particular focus on the SCHADS Award.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end fortnightly payroll across multiple entities
- Ensure compliance with SCHADS Award, Fair Work, taxation, and superannuation laws
- Provide training and support to our offshore payroll analyst, helping them build knowledge of Australian payroll legislation
- Generate payroll reports and support budgeting and cost analysis
- Handle employee payroll queries with professionalism and empathy
- Maintain accurate payroll records and support audit/compliance reviews
- Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives with Finance and HR
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience managing payroll, ideally in NDIS, healthcare or related sectors
- In-depth knowledge of the SCHADS Award
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience mentoring or training others, particularly in remote or cross-cultural contexts
- Experience with Employment Hero or similar platforms is a plus
- Qualifications in HR or Finance (preferred but not essential)
