About the Position
The Financial Controller will report to the CEO and be responsible for overseeing accounting operations of the company, including the production of financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and establishment of a comprehensive set of controls to mitigate risk. You will be accountable for enhancing accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensuring reported results comply with international financial reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities Include
1. Financial Reporting - preparing timely and accurate financial statements and management reports; ensure compliance with local accounting standards; oversee the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts; monitor and analyse monthly operating results against budget
2. Accounting Operations - maintaining a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; managing operations of the accounting department, including the design of organisational structure to achieve department goals and objectives; overseeing the accounting operations, control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures
3. Internal Controls & Compliance - implement and maintain internal control safeguards; ensure compliance with tax and other regulatory requirements
4. Financial Analysis & Strategic Planning - provide financial analysis and decision-making support for key business initiatives; collaborate with the executive team to develop long-term financial strategies; conduct profitability analysis for new business ventures
5. Leadership & Management - lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance and accounting professionals; foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team; orovide guidance and support for cross-functional teams on financial matters
About You
You will thrive and succeed in our team by bringing the following experience:
- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- CA, CPA or equivalent certification preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Additionally, you will stand out from the crowd if you can demonstrate the following:
- Advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of financial analysis and reporting tools
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments
