We are currently growing rapidly and have an exciting opportunity for support workers with experience in providing care in complex behaviours and mental health.

About the Position
The Disability Support Worker is responsible for providing high-quality, responsive, and person-centered support to assist residents achieve their goals and enhance their quality of life.
The responsibilities include:
- Provide services to meet the individual needs of people with disability, which may include transferring and hoisting, personal care, domestic duties and medication administration
- Behaviour support for psychosocial clients, skills development training and social support
- Keep up to date with participants needs and care plans, including changes to participants care needs.
- Facilitate community inclusion and participation, dependent on individual needs, abilities and preferences, and support participants to establish and maintain relationships and interests through access to community activities and services.
About You
You will thrive and succeed in our team by bringing the following experience to this position:
- Qualification in disability, mental health, or related field (desirable)
- 2 years’ experience supporting people in a related sector including with a disability, mental illness, community services, aged care, residential or rehabilitation environment.
- Experience supporting participants with high needs. Exposure to complex behaviours and mental health.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to recognise and interpret non-verbal cues with our Huntington participants.
- A clear understanding of professional boundaries and restrictive practices
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision and under pressure.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to write clear case notes.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate as part of a diverse team and work autonomously
Your application for this position will require you to have the following (or willing to obtain):
- National Police Check (verified in the last 6 months)
- NDIS Worker Screening clearance (obtained from Service NSW)
- Evidence of 3 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine
- Unrestricted Australian Driver’s License
- Current First Aid Certificate
